Christmas goodies, and stuff

Here are the kids with the gingerbread house Benjamin made at school.

Here's Mackenzie with her Rudolph goodie bag from her class party. She came home with enough candy to rot out every tooth in her head, and have a belly ache for a week!

Frankie was a big help wrapping presetns. He held down the packing paper so it didn't escape.

He also tested out the boxes...
I think we need a bigger box!

Lunch With Santa at Texas Roadhouse

We had lunch with Santa yesterday at Texas Roadhouse. Santa was about 30 minutes late but finally arrived in his red, elf-driven Caddy complete with steer horns on the front. When Santa got there, they finally changed from gosh-awful country music to corny Christmas carols. I know, I know, it's called TEXAS Roadhouse for a reason, but STILL. I'm just not a country music kind of girl!

Here are the kids posing with Santa.
They also played "pin the nose on Rudolph". Both of my kids got him right in the tail!
They had a great time, and each kid got a cupcake and goodie bag.

What am I thankful for...

Of course, I'm thankful for my family and our health and all that good stuff, but also this: the new table Bill and Dad built over Thanksgiving weekend. The top is solid cherry wood. I used a clear polyurethane to seal it, to let the beautiful wood grain show through. Also, nothing in my house is dark like traditional cherry finish. It turned out exactly like I wanted it to. We have wanted a table just a little smaller than the one we had for quite a while, and with MoMo's cage taking up so much room in the dining room, it suddenly became more critical. ;) There was just enough cherry to make the top the size we wanted, so it worked out perfectly!
Even seen anything cuter than this? I haven't!!! He's a sweepy widdle boy!

"Barbie and Tanner" OR "Fun with Poop"

Mackenzie had a little birthday money from Granny that was burning a hole in her pocket, and here is what she picked out. Barbie and her faithful dog, Tanner. Look what Tanner can do.

Feed Tanner a biscuit...
Press his tail...
Oh, Tanner! What a mess you made!!! Yes, Tanner poops.

But, wait! There's more...

Use the handy-dandy pooper scooper to pick up all of Tanner's little "presents".

Be sure and put then in the tiny pink trash can, because we wouldn't want Barbie or any of her friends to step in the plastic poop and ruin their lovely plastic high heeled sneakers.

Poop goes through a secret door in the back of the trash can to refill the dog biscuit box. Recycling at its finest!

Refill Tanner's bowl with genuine recycled dog poo dog biscuits and start the fun all over again!

Oh MoMo!

Here are a few shots of the newest member of our family, MoMo. She's an 8-year-old Catalina Macaw.

Thirsty???

She's finally getting used to the kids enough to let them hold her, with adult supervison, of course! (Bribery with a nice nut helps, too!)

That's one nut she can't crack!

I'm ready for my close-up.

Here are a couple more of the critters.

Look out! He's escaping!!!
